Living with chronic pain can be confusing and overwhelming. You may have suffered for years before receiving a diagnosis, or perhaps you are still searching for one. Even if you have a diagnosis, you may not know what to do with it. You might feel like you have completely lost control of your body, your health, and your life.
Often times doctors make suggestions on lifestyle changes that can help their patients feel better – things like managing or decreasing stress, eliminating inflammatory foods and making other dietary changes, improving quality of sleep, getting appropriate exercise, etc. These are all extremely important factors when treating chronic pain, especially when it’s triggered by an autoimmune disorder, Fibromyalgia, or other chronic illnesses. But many patients leave the doctor’s office knowing what they should be doing, but don’t have any idea how to actually do it.
And that is where Conscious Movements meets Chronic Pain. Our work together is not meant to take the place of working with a trusted medical professional, but rather to complement that work, and help you implement the treatment plan you’ve been given. Throughout that process, I’ll help you to make permanent changes that reduce your suffering and create a life that is full of health, hope, and happiness.

And the work I do as both a Feldenkrais Practitioner® and Health & Wellness Coach involves taking time to develop your awareness, expand your knowledge, and hone in on the skills you need to be successful. About Functional Integration
For most people, there is no better way to address pain reduction and self-improvement goals than the neuromuscular reorganization possible through Functional Integration lessons (hands-on, one-to-one Feldenkrais).
The touch is very gentle. I will move you slowly, in an easy range, feeling how movement passes through you and helping take over extra work you are doing.

#1- Easier Movement
Discover how your movement habits are contributing to your pain and how to move without pain and more ease. As you improve your movement you'll reduce the bio-mechanical stressors that may be contributing to your pain.

Certain lifestyle habits and choices over time result in metabolic imbalances which promote a more inflammatory environment. Research has shown unequivocally that this systemic inflammation is fundamentally involved with cardiovascular disease, depression, and pain. Hyper-sensitization occurs when the brain has the pain volume constantly turned up. Painful sensations become more severe, and some sensations that might not be painful to others reach a threshold of pain for the sensitized brain.
You'll learn effective ways to control and re-regulate the volume controls.
